Green Plums - Erik 250 gr

The green plums or Greengage is a European plum that is botanically classified as Prunus domestica. It is a uniquely sweet freestone variety that is regarded by some as the ultimate plum in terms of flavour. There are over a dozen different cultivars of the species, including Reine Claude, Imperial Gage, Golden Transparent, Bryanston, Cambridge Gage and Laxton’s Gage. Each of these are identified by slight differences in skin colour, flesh appearance, and seasonality, but always similar in their shape and confectionary-like flavours.

The green plums' flavour is the perfect balance of candy-like sweetness and subtle acidity offering shades of honey, dried apricot, ripe mango and citrus marmalade.
